JEWELRY CARE
Below you can read how to take care of your jewelry, this is what we recommend from Alvent and we have been using it for years and recommending it to our customers.
Sterling silver
Sterling silver is a jewelry material that has been used for hundreds of years, is very precious and has a special finish. As long as you wear your jewel it will be perfect, you can shower, go to the beach, pool and it will always be ideal. Even so, silver can change to yellow and/or black if you take it off and leave it in an open place, so we recommend that if you take off any silver jewelry, it is better to keep it in your vent box and inside its organza bag, will prevent it from losing its shine and scratching due to contact with other pieces.
How to clean it:
A tip to clean sterling silver and give it its shine from the first day is to rub it with warm water and toothpaste (if it is better bleach). This is the method that we recommend the most at Al Vent and that gives the best results.
Baking soda or salt can scratch the piece and become embedded between the stone and the recesses of the jewel.
Gold plated sterling silver
Gold-plated sterling silver allows you to wear quality jewelry with the same finish as gold. It is important to know that gold-plated silver has a thin layer of gold, so with use, especially if it is used in the shower and/or perfume, it will accelerate the disappearance of the gold and the sterling silver will be visible. From Al vent we recommend removing this type of jewelry to shower and if you are not going to wear them for a while we recommend that you keep them in your al vent box and inside its organza bag, it will prevent it from losing shine and scratching. contact with other parts.
The good thing about gold-plated silver is that when it has lost color it can be plated in gold again and it will be like the first day.
How to clean it (only in case it has become very dark):
A tip to clean your jewelery and give it its shine from the first day is to rub it with a little water and toothpaste. You can also use neutral soap and water and leave the piece to soak for a few hours. This is the method that we recommend the most at Al Vent and that gives the best results. Baking soda or salt can scratch the piece and become embedded between the stone and the recesses of the jewel.
Stainless steel
Steel in terms of maintenance is a delight, whether in silver or gold. It does not turn black or change color. It is resistant to water, perfume and sweat so you will not have to worry about cleaning it, simply combine it and enjoy it.
If, in addition, your steel jewel is gold or rosé, it will not change color either, something of great value with this type of color since we know that gold-plated silver will lose its bath over time.
